Front yard stays green through Garland drought summers — no irrigation needed
Please wait while we prepare your content

Garland is not a suburb where everyone has a lawn service come every week. Most families in Spring Park, Eastern Hills, Heatherwood, and Camelot take care of their own yards. That means early Saturday mornings behind a push mower before it gets brutal, fighting the mower through the dead patches left by last summer's drought, patching the bare spots where the dog runs, spending real money on a sprinkler head that broke in February and drove the water bill up while you were figuring out where the leak was. Residential artificial grass from Artificial Turf of Garland removes that whole cycle.
We install for actual homeowners in Garland — working families, multi-generational households, longtime residents who want their property to look good without the physical grind, younger buyers who do not see the point of the water bill for something that browns out every August anyway. We work in the older established neighborhoods around Old Downtown Garland and the GISD school zones. We work in the newer subdivisions near Naaman Forest High School. We work in western Rowlett subdivisions where the Lake Ray Hubbard side yards flood twice a year and no natural grass survives in the shade under the live oaks.
Residential turf from us means front yard curb appeal that holds through the summer, a backyard that the kids can actually use without tracking mud or getting grass stains on everything, and a pet area that does not turn into a mud run every time it rains.
Water is the primary driver for most residential turf decisions in Garland. The city has been under watering restrictions in multiple dry summers over the past decade, and even in normal years the aquifer that feeds Garland Municipal Water is under pressure. Running sprinklers three times a week burns 30,000 to 50,000 gallons a year on a standard residential lot — at current Garland utility rates, that is a real line on the monthly budget.
Beyond water, there is the maintenance time question. A lot of Garland families are two-income households where weekends are already full. GISD activities, church, extended family in Dallas or Mesquite, work schedules that do not run Monday-Friday — these are real life patterns in NE Dallas. Artificial grass gives those families their Saturday mornings back. No mow, no edge, no fertilizer, no sprinkler troubleshooting.
For the significant number of Garland residents for whom Spanish or Vietnamese is the primary language at home, we communicate clearly at every step — measurements, product options, installation timeline, maintenance instructions. The last thing anyone needs is a contractor who talks past you when you are spending real money on your property.

A residential install starts with a site visit. We walk the yard with you, look at drainage patterns, check where water pools, identify shaded areas that need specific product considerations, and measure the actual space. We bring product samples so you can see and feel the difference between pile heights and colors before committing.
Installation begins with sod removal and base preparation. For most Garland residential yards, we excavate two to four inches to account for the base material depth and keep the finished turf surface level with surrounding hardscape. We compact a Class II base, lay weed fabric, then roll and cut the turf panels. Seams are glued — not stapled, not left floating — so they hold over years of thermal expansion and contraction. Infill goes in last: silica sand for most residential applications, or a sand-rubber blend for play areas. We sweep it into the pile and power-brush so blades stand upright.
The yard is walkable the same day. No cure time waiting. Full performance from day one.
